I’m grateful to Brigitte Cutshall and Real Things Living for creating space for an honest, thoughtful conversation about the state of the American healthcare system.
Open discussions like this are essential as patients and physicians navigate a system increasingly shaped by corporatization, medical burnout, and a growing primary care crisis.
It was a privilege to speak about the erosion of the doctor–patient relationship, the shortage of primary care physicians, and why time, trust, and patient advocacy are central to real healing. These are the same issues I explore in Failure to Treat, which examines how financial pressure and systemic dysfunction put both patients and doctors at risk.
My hope is that conversations like this help patients become informed advocates, encourage trust in ethical physicians, and spark meaningful dialogue about healthcare reform. Thank you for amplifying this message and for supporting honest conversations about medicine, compassion, and the future of care.
